  • OK, this is my second go around of adding the Share button to content. I added an older version before, I don't know if there was a problem or what was the reason I removed it. Anyway, the share button allows users that have accounts on other sites to share the content here on Limrock.org (Post a link to it) on their other account. This helps their friends find out about Limrock.org and the content that we have here by clicking on the link, bringing them here. Hopefully this will mean more visitors and/or members in the long run.

  • You can now post a status message for yourself and you also can post a message to a user from their content or profile page. These are shorter and quicker than regular comments. Should be cool if there are no major problems that show up. You can go to http://limrock.org/statuses/recent to view all the latest status messages. Let me know if there are problems.

  • I ran across this article at al.com today:

"al.com is making it easier than ever for you to contribute and interact locally through our new community tools. Once you join, you'lll be able to meet and interact with area residents who share your interests and passions. Whether it's politics, pets, parenting or sports, you'll be able to hear what others are saying, reading, and watching by becoming a member and exploring what others are sharing."

  • Penny Rousseau Green has a website called pennyspurse.com where she writes interesting articles about our local area almost daily. Penny grew up in Limrock and lived hardly more than a stones throw away from me. Although I didn't really know her as she is several years younger than me I've known her Dad Jimmy and her Grandfather John Rousseau all my life. Us boys used to go fishing and swimming in her Grandpa's creek while trying to avoid those big whiteface Hereford cows of his.

  • We had 49 unique visitors yesterday based on the different IP addresses logged in the database. Thinking about doing a monthly prize maybe. Something like a penny for total amount of visitors for the month added daily. For example: if we have 50 visitors a day times 30 days that would be 1500 so it would be 15 dollars. More visitors per day and the prize would be higher obviously. Maybe give this to the member who had the most visits to their profile based on unique IP addresses, not page views because there's ways to cheat on the page views.

  • Looking forward to working with them here at Limrock.org to further their cause of helping the people of this area. Individually, there's not much that any of us can do. But if we work together we can accomplish a great deal. Right now, what Limrock.org needs most is visitors. So I encourage every member to help promote this site.
