James M. Tidwell Dies
After strange injuries
James M. Tidwell, age 61, died at the home of his brother, T.W. Tidwell, Scottsboro Rt. 1, Saturday night, Feb 1st, 1941 after being unconscious since November 26th when he was found on the streets of Huntsville in an unconscious condition, presumably from being hit by a car or truck, which did not stop or report the accident.
Mr. Tidwell had no identification on him and he remained in the Huntsville Hospital for ten days until his brother saw an account of the unknown man being injured, went to Huntsville and found it was his brother. He was brought to the Tidwell home here early in December and lived until last Saturday without speaking a rational word to explain what happened.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at Wininger with Layman Lige Potter conducting and Scottsboro Funeral home in charge of burial. The deceased left some sisters and brothers. Cumberland Mountain was his home.
