James W. SHELTON Passes
News reached here this morning that James W. Shelton of Letcher passed away at his home late Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Shelton had been complaining for several days but it was not thought his condition was serious. The end came suddenly.
He was one of the pioneer citizens of this section. He had been postmaster at Letcher for a number of years and was a prominent figure in politics of that section.
He was a man who kept up with the affairs of the nation and took an active interest in all the activities of his section. He was a man of friendly and courteous disposition and won many strong friends and was a successful businessman and farmer.
