I am a descendant of the alabama gentles and am trying to research the family. My grandfather was Henry Grady Gentle, Ben Gentle's brother, and I remember my father mentioning a cousin "ackle?". Any info or direction is appreciated.
Mom says that Ben was Achle's father. Achle is related to me through his mother, Mary Chambless Gentle. There is a picture of Achle at http://limrock.org/content/1/thelma-chambless-gentle-bettye-chambless-ti.... Achle's wife is Lorene. She's still living. They have two boys and one girl. Achle Jr,, Sam & Jane are their names. Again, some of this is info I am getting from Mom. I've met Sam & Lorene and I think Jane has been to the family reunion. There are various small kids but I don't know any of their names or remember how many or who they belong to. Not sure of how or if Achle is related to Alfred Gentle. Hope this helps.
When was Henry born? Who were his parents? On the 1930 Census, I find a Henry, born 1925, son of J. Mitt and Bertha. I will post a copy if this could be them.
