The Alabama House passed HB56 on Tuesday. If this passes in the Senate, then illegal aliens will no longer be able to receive government benefits like food stamps, WIC, etc. I've never really understood why they have been able to get such assistance anyway. It doesn't make sense to me. Here's what Fyffe Police Chief Jake Fowler had to say about the opposition arguments to the bill.
