James B Fletcher was a Confederate Captain in the 49th Regiment, Alabama Infantry.
He was my GGGGGrandfather.
Also in the 49th was my GGrandfather James M Selvage. He was a lad of about 14 when he fought at the battle of Shiloh.
James's brothers John Selvage and William Selvage also were in the 49th.
There was also a Peter Selvage but I don't know the relation yet.
William Selvage was my GGGGrandfather on my Bullock line. He was killed at the battle of Corinth Mississippi. His daughter Mary Elizabeth Selvage married John L Bullock.
There were also several Tidwell's in the 49th but I don't know what the relation is.
Captain Fletcher had retired home to Alabama when the surviving regiment was captured at Port Hudson LA.
